1.
In the blackened shade of coastal pine Evil born of ancient time lurks A memory of days long past Boreal and lycan Eternal tyrant Of timberline Branch cloaked bearer Of hinterland supremacy Glowing eyes await Effulgent to feast Upon any soul to trespass Lustfully fulfilling the wild’s dark call Eternal tyrant Of timberline Branch cloaked bearer Of hinterland supremacy
2.
In honor I fall I have stumbled here To the place of my beginning To return that which is owed I gaze upon my grave Dirt and soil The great black mausoleum Above Death though known as cruel and cold Carries no bias I meet him in the trees In magic, might and splendor
3.
Along the banks of a great river The echoes of resounding arms fade Death and loss washed away As if born from the same stone Carved unceasingly by the currents hand Valor and victory met here today A great battle conducted amongst Monuments to man’s frailty I once wept in awe of these great peaks Sought solace at their feet Yet as my brother’s blood Flows ever to the sea The mountains weep not for me
4.
An embattled hill Bunkered in the fires glow On the eve of battle The first advance Crashes upon the hill Cut down as if By the sudden sweep Of a great scythe An embattled hill Bunkered in the fires glow On the eve of battle By bayonet and saber The line is broke It is in vain to extenuate the matter Gentle men may cry peace! peace! But there is no peace The war has actually begun The next gale that sweeps from the North Will bring to our ears the crash of resounding arms Our brethren are already in the field Why stand we idle? Too dearly bought a victory Accomplishment negated by casualty And the proclamation of rebellion
5.
The great expanse As it crushes down There should be bewilderment Of mind For all that is great and eternal Man left faltering Mute and deaf As nature whispers her ancient speak Yet a bludgeoned subject Never foregoing her majesty Yet the knife keeps turning The call is silent deep and long Amongst giant green totems Thunderous echoes Ice cold stars Pierce the mausoleum Man’s greatest tomb Is left for all to walk
6.
From realm displaced To world anew A vow was made to break Torn from the few The trees have all Now been replaced And the mountains Now bear their face The land that spake of promise - thusly raped And willed to decay Verdancy Unflourishing Mankind drinks from the poisoned well he made In his endless circle of towers Clouds of black gather in the sky of ashen grey Over man’s hallowed grounds Even the mountains Bear their facade The winds moan sadly Through withered forests And the rivers Have gone still When at last theres nothing Nothing left to conquer Then there shall be nothing Nothing left at all Blighted Earth
7.
By evenings end a bleeding sun Withering branches of bygone tales Lay rotting, seeping into ground Old and decayed. I buried my hope, in this dirt. Barren and dead . Eaten by the flame, now burning with the fire. Hate flickering, in her eyes . They poisoned the well. Yet I drank deep. Exhale, exhume, the arisen I buried my hope, in this dirt. Barren and dead . Eaten by the flame, now burning with the fire. Inverted, it points. For it shall echo the ages Deeper it pulls the whispers from beyond the gates Spiraling paths a dark descent Paths beyond the lights Cavernous pull Through mountains, through fog exhale, exhumed arise. Solitude Eating the flame Burn with the fire Exhale, exhumed Solitude reigns
8.
Mournful and somber fields Amongst chiseled granite and frozen streams I wander In hopes to find Everlong A silence in which to dwell Black is the night As it drapes the sorrows of my mind. Forlorn and cold Winter’s grip Binds my breath. I feel it pulls deeper still White giants tower In their splendor I am inconsequential Adrift, but found in winter’s embrace.
